On my very first day as a Young Fellow at FCNL, I attended a lobby meeting on Capitol Hill with a senate staffer. Despite being told that I should not feel pressured to contribute much to the meeting—which I was pretty sure meant I really should not even speak—I was overwhelmed with nerves.

Cancel the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent

The Pentagon wants to replace its arsenal of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) with a new Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program expected to cost around $260 billion over its lifecycle. These new nuclear missiles, part of a $1.6 trillion nuclear weapons modernization project, are costly, unnecessary, and dangerous.

Expand the Atrocities Prevention Fund

The Atrocities Prevention Fund (AP Fund) provides resources to the Department of State for the prevention of genocide and mass atrocities, including by acting on the recommendations of the Atrocity Early Warning Task Force. The AP Fund is critical to the implementation of the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act.
