The Problem: President Trump, in coordination with the majority of the 119th Congress, has pledged to deport 13 million or more undocumented immigrants, close the border, and cut funding to communities that support newcomers. This is part of a sweeping detention and deportation agenda that includes stripping lawful status from noncitizens, suspending bipartisan programs like refugee admissions, rescinding protections for sensitive locations like schools, hospitals, and places of worship, and even impounding funds Congress designated for humanitarian and migration needs.
Our country is struggling with deep divisions. Amid the blame of and attack on those who are different - in political views, race, religion, country of origin, or sexual orientation - it becomes even more urgent to highlight the value we place in one another. FCNL’s #LoveThyNeighbor (No Exceptions) campaign seeks to shift the narrative.
