The White House announced late yesterday that it is committed to resettling only 30,000 for FY2019—the lowest in the resettlement program’s history.

According to the latest U.S. Census Bureau report, released this week, the official poverty rate decreased from 12.7 percent in 2016 to 12.3 percent in 2017, now totaling 39.7 million people.
