As associate general secretary for communications and IT, Adlai Amor leads FCNL’s award-winning communications team to build its presence in all media platforms, oversee the organization’s marketing, and provide strategic direction for all communications.

Adlai earned an M.S. from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, New York City, and a Bachelor of Journalism from Silliman University, Philippines (magna cum laude). He holds certificates in nonprofit diversity management (The Management Center) and anti-racist leadership (NEXT Church).

He brings to his professional work a lifetime of devotion to the issues of development, science, environmental journalism, and the intersection of faith and politics. He has strong skills in strategic communications, integrating traditional and digital media, brand management, social media, advocacy, marketing, media relations, and journalism.

Prior to joining FCNL, Adlai directed Bread for the World’s communications and marketing team. He was instrumental in transforming Bread from a legacy advocacy organization into a digital one.

In the Philippines, Adlai worked as an editor for Depthnews Asia, published a daily newspaper (NewsTime), and trained journalists in Asia and the Pacific for the Press Foundation of Asia. He subsequently led WWF’s Conservation News Service in Switzerland, before becoming the director of training at the International Center for Journalists in Washington, DC.

Afterward, he also managed the communications departments of Greenpeace USA, the World Resources Institute, the Asian American Justice Center, and The Global Fund for Children.

Adlai is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a former chair of the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation and a former trustee of the San Francisco Theological Seminary. He currently serves on the board of governors of the Religion Communicators Council.

Adlai is fluent in three languages.
