In war, civilians always pay the highest price. As the crisis in Israel and Palestine deepens following the attack by Hamas on Israel and Israel’s retaliatory violence, our voices are needed. FCNL is mobilizing advocates for peace to urge lawmakers to call for an immediate ceasefire, prioritize humanitarian aid, and secure the release of hostages.
Our collective advocacy is working to shift the conversation and open up space for calls to end the violence. But we need your help to continue building momentum for a ceasefire to protect the lives of Palestinian civilians and Israeli hostages and ensure that humanitarian aid can reach those in dire need. Here are three ways to act.
Write a Letter to Congress
If you haven’t already, send a customized letter to your lawmakers urging them to call for an immediate ceasefire.
Go on a Drop-By Visit
Dropping by the offices of your senators and representatives to have a face-to-face visit is the most powerful thing you can do right now. Ready to act? Click here and enter your information to access our checklist, script, and legislative ask.
Act with Your Quaker Meeting
In Quaker meetings and churches, meeting minutes represent the wording of a decision or an agreed upon action to be taken by the meeting or church as a whole. FCNL recognizes the vitality of minutes as advocacy tools and as a means of communicating to members of Congress how a body of their constituents is thinking and acting on a particular issue.
If your church or meeting has passed a minute on the crisis in Israel-Palestine, or would like to, FCNL can help you share it with your members of Congress.
