This week, FCNL and our partners brought thousands of voices together calling for protections for Dreamers – the young immigrants who grew up in the U.S. without documentation.

Congress has yet to act to protect immigrants who grew up in the United States as children and have no existing opportunity to pursue legal status. Often referred to as Dreamers, we know them as are our friends, coworkers, classmates, and family who have worked tirelessly to be afforded a chance to fully thrive in our shared nation.

A comparison of four different Dreamer protection bills – the BRIDGE Act, SUCCEED Act, RAC Act, and Dream Act. FCNL considers the provisions outlined in the Dream Act to be the best option available for Dreamers.

As part of Praying with Dreamers week (Oct 29-Nov 4), FCNL sent a letter to Congress urging the enactment of the Dream Act of 2017.

Advocating for the Dream Act (S. 1615 / H.R. 3440) is putting the faithful call to love our neighbors into action. The #Faith4Dream Praying With Dreamers Week is an interfaith effort to ensure Congress hears from people of faith this week and every week until Congress passes legislation with a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.

We have a very short window in which we need to get Congress to act and pass legislation that protects young immigrants who grew up in the United States from deportation and allows them to study, work, and live in the country they consider home.
