Paul Aversa is the 2025-2026 Program Assistant for Nuclear Disarmament and Pentagon Spending. He lobbies Congress to address international climate change and conservation issues, and conducts interviews with people at the frontlines of the climate crisis to better understand their perspectives.  

Paul graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs and a concentration in Biotechnology & Global Health. He wrote an undergraduate thesis modeling the dispersion of black carbon particle emissions from kerosene and methane rocket propellants, studying the potential impact of rocket fuels on ozone degradation and enhanced radiative forcing.  

Paul previously interned in the legal sector, assisting attorneys in conducting environmental crime and justice investigations at the U.S. Department of Justice, administered the appropriations outreach process at Holland & Knight, and performed research on Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) as a Sustainable Food & Farming Fellow at Earthjustice. He also supplemented lobbying efforts at the Kennedy Center and the Trust for Public Land.  

In his spare time, he likes to go hiking, kayaking, and cook.
