Micah MacColl Nicholson (she/they) is the Quaker Outreach program assistant for the 2023-2024 year.
Over the next year, she will advocate for Quaker voices within the organization and strengthen relationships with established and new Quaker networks nationwide. Her work will be centered around bringing clarity to the lobbying efforts of FCNL and engaging the diverse populations whose stances will help to inform the future of this community.
Micah graduated with honors from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Social Services (with minors in Sociology/Anthropology and Education), and a designation of Distinction in Global Engagement. She was a Quaker Fellows Scholar and concluded her undergraduate studies at Chiang Mai University in Thailand with its faculty of Political Science and Public Administration.
Throughout her time in Richmond, Micah ran the Richmond Young Friends youth group, Lightseekers, which served the three Quaker meetings in the area. In addition, she worked closely with two nonprofits in Wayne County: Purdue Extension with their community educators and The Boys and Girls Club as a youth development professional and education assistant. She has a deep-rooted interest in cultivating community connections and is excited to continue exploring the impact of holistic policy interventions and their implications on our diverse communities.
Micah enjoys a good book and exploring the Washington, D.C., area—but nothing beats a walk with her dog, Muggles. Being a Philadelphia native, she is no stranger to exploring the Northeast and loves to travel, learning about different people, places, and activities wherever she goes.
