Kat DesCamp-Renner was the program assistant for Middle East policy for 2021-2022. Her work centered on supporting FCNL’s lobbying efforts to advance a just and sustainable U.S. foreign policy toward the region.

Kat graduated from the University of Virginia in 2021 with a B.A. in foreign affairs with distinction and a B.A. in global studies, with a focus on Middle Eastern studies. Her senior thesis examined the impact of street protests in the time of COVID-19 on political legitimacy in Iran.

Prior to joining FCNL, ​Kat held internships at the Center for International Policy, Churches for Middle East Peace, and ReThink Media. She also worked for three years as a research assistant in the University of Virginia’s Department of Politics as an undergraduate.
