Shawn Adams serves as FCNL’s 2024-2025 program assistant for Nuclear Disarmament and Pentagon Spending, assisting the team in advocating for necessary reductions in military spending, a renewed focus on arms control, and the long-term goal of eliminating the need for nuclear weapons.

Shawn is a recent graduate of Middlebury College, where he received a bachelor of arts in Global Security Studies with a focus in Latin America. At Middlebury, he served as a voting member on the Community Council, a mentor for Middlebury’s Community Friends Program, and a student facilitator for the Kathryn W. Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation.

As an undergraduate, he worked in research roles at the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, and the Hudson Institute, where he gained a deeper understanding of arms control, nuclear nonproliferation, deterrence, and the relevance of these topics to U.S. domestic politics.

In his free time, you can find Shawn cooking, hiking, or playing music.
