Program Assistant, Young Adult Outreach

Sergio Mata

Sergio Mata-Cisneros is the Program Assistant for Young Adult Outreach. He works alongside FCNL's Advocacy Corps Coordinator, Larissa Gil Sanhueza. Together they’re building FCNL’s young adult network and advocacy throughout the country.

Sergio travels the country to mobilize young adults to engage in grassroots advocacy and to recruit attendees for FCNL's Spring Lobby Weekend, a four-day lobbying and educational event. He also oversees the delegation leader program, which encourages young adults to organize their peers in lobbying efforts and to lead a group traveling to Spring Lobby Weekend.

He has a long-standing relationship with FCNL through various young adult programs. He has previously served as an FCNL summer intern, Advocacy Corp organizer, and Spring Lobby Weekend delegation leader. Before joining FCNL he worked as a Legislative Fellow at Somos Un Pueblo Unido, a community-based and immigrant-led organization that promotes worker and racial justice.

Sergio attended Houghton College where he studied Political Theology and was elected Student Body President.
