Former Annual Fund Director
Mike Coogan worked with FCNL’s development team to craft and implement an Annual Fund strategy that supports the organization’s advocacy work and honors Quaker testimonies on peace, equality, simplicity and truth. In this capacity, he collaborated with staff and volunteers to steward the organization’s large and diverse base of donors and reach out to others who support of FCNL’s non-partisan, multi-issue approach to lobbying.
Prior to coming to FCNL, Mike worked with a number of national and international non-profit organizations focused on human rights and social justice issues. He most recently spent seven years working for the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights with roles in both development and lobbying. His writing and analysis has been published in numerous media outlets, including The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Hill. Before joining the US Campaign, Mike worked for an international non-governmental organization as an English and photography teacher in United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) schools in the West Bank city of Nablus.
Mike is currently pursuing an MBA at Georgetown University. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Portland (UP). While attending university, he served as the Outdoor Program Coordinator and guided groups of students on rock climbing, camping, and snowshoeing trips.
