Lauren Evans is FCNL’s 2023-2024 program assistant for Peacebuilding, assisting the team in advocating for sustainable and nonviolent U.S. foreign policy. This includes work on tracking current conflict legislation and campaigning for the abolishment of U.S. policies related to authorization of landmine use, among other projects.

Lauren has just completed her graduate degree in Peacebuilding and Mediation from the University of St. Andrews, after receiving her bachelor’s degree, majoring in Political Science and English, at the University of Richmond. She is a certified mediator with Scottish Mediation. Her graduate thesis focuses on socioeconomic and racial disparities in U.S. military recruitment strategy.

Lauren has worked on environmental initiatives throughout her studies, including with Plastic-free Delaware, and she previously worked with Common Cause Delaware on voting access initiatives. She grew up attending Wilmington Monthly Meeting. In her spare time, Lauren loves to read, write, and travel.
