Krista Sassaman leads FCNL’s Annual Fund team, which is responsible for raising funds from individual donors through direct mail and digital channels, and for FCNL development department operations. Before joining FCNL, Krista spent 25 years as a fundraising consultant, guiding fundraising programs for a range of nonprofit missions including conservation, arts, human rights, and health care.
Krista serves on the Board of Directors of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW) Educational Fund. She manages their mentorship program which connects marketing students with direct response firms and other fundraising-focused businesses. She is also a member of the capital campaign committee for City Dogs and City Kitties Rescue in Washington, D.C.
A native Virginian, Krista received a B.A. in Russian Language & Literature from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in American Studies from Bowling Green State University. In her free time, she and her family love to travel, but equally love to spend time with each other and their dogs.
