Kiarra Broadnax is a rising junior at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama majoring in Political Science with a double minor in Communication and Sociology. She is originally from Smiths Station, Alabama and is a member of Samford University’s Policy Debate Team. In 2018, Kiarra was voted Novice of the Year at the Southeast Cross Examination Debate Association, in which the topic was Universal Healthcare.

Kiarra is passionate about reproductive rights, the LGBTQ+ community, and the reform of the social construction of the American prison system. She will be pursuing a career in law and continuing her partnerships with social outreach programs such as Impact America to help communities throughout Alabama. As part of the Advocacy Corps, Kiarra is most excited to learn more about the legislative process while learning how to effectively network.

Outside of her time spent with the Samford Policy Debate Team, Kiarra is involved in Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity and the Samford University marching band and wind ensemble in which she plays the flute. In her free time she enjoys reading, debating, and being with friends.
