Brenda Martell Garcia is a junior at New Jersey Institute of Technology majoring in Biomedical Engineering with aspirations of becoming a surgeon. A member of Girl Up, Society of Women Engineers and recruiting officer for Pre-Health Society in her campus, Brenda enjoys volunteering and empowering immigrant youth.
After attending Spring Lobby Weekend, Brenda became inspired to learn more about social justice issues and realized the importance of lobbying and advocating for marginalized communities. Originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, she was raised in New Jersey and has advocated on immigration issues both locally and federally.
