On August 1, 62 organizations issued a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urging expedited Senate consideration of the House version of the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act (H.R.3030).
On July 16, FCNL and 144 other organizations sent a letter to Representatives Pete Sessions (TX-32) and James McGovern (MA- 2), respectively the Chairman and Ranking Member on the House Rules Committee. This letter urges them to support amendments in the appropriations bill would that protect the Johnson Amendment.
In a letter issued on May 29, 60 non-governmental organizations write to urge Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair, Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), to schedule the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act for consideration before the Committee at the next business meeting.
On May 15, 2018, a bipartisan group of 49 members of Congress sent a letter to Chairman Corker (TN) and Ranking Member Menendez (NJ) of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee stating their opposition to the AUMF 2018. The letter was led by Representatives Barbara Lee (CA) and Walter Jones (SC).
On May 15, 2018, FCNL along with 23 other organizations sent a letter to Chairman Corker (TN) and Ranking Member Menendez (NJ) of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee opposing the new Authorization for Use of Military Force 2018.
