Letter Peacebuilding Coalition Urges Congress to Protect Foreign Assistance Funding 

On August 9, FCNL and more than 40 other organizations in the Alliance for Peacebuilding sent a letter to House appropriators, urging them to protect funding for foreign assistance. The administration has attempted to freeze $4 billion of these congressionally-approved funds. This would impact the ability of the U.S. to prevent and manage conflict abroad.

FCNL joined 30 organizations in sending a letter to National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) conferees expressing opposition to war with Iran, and urging them to retain bipartisan language to prohibit funds for military action against Iran without explicit authorization from Congress. The conferees are working together to resolve the differences between the defense authorization bills passed separately by the Senate and the House.
