We are closer now than ever to a major win on health care, thanks in large part to the strong advocacy of people like you. But with a procedural vote on Tuesday and a possible floor debate coming up, every minute counts for protecting access to quality, affordable health care.

Update July 24, 2017

The Senate is scheduled for a procedural vote on Tuesday, July 25 to move health care legislation forward — but no one’s quite clear on which legislation they’re advancing. Following the procedural vote, the Senate could vote on a repeal bill without a replacement, a version of the House bill, or several compromise packages. Stay tuned, and take action.

Original July 18, 2017

The Senate doesn’t appear to have the votes on their bill that would take away health care from 22 million people and end the Medicaid program as we know it in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest people in our country.

Thank you to everyone who has been tirelessly advocating against this bill with your senators. The strong public opposition to this legislation is a big reason why it is not moving forward. Your voices have power, and the pressure you can exert on your members of Congress makes a difference.

But we can’t let up, because the Senate is still looking to vote in the coming days. We can’t let up the pressure. We need to call on Congress to oppose partisan efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act without a responsible replacement. Congress needs to work in a bipartisan manner to fix the real problems with our health care system. And members need to hear that Medicaid should be off the table. Call your senators today.

Our voices are making a difference. That should motivate us to keep going, not back away.
