The Interfaith Trailblazer of the Year Award recognizes interfaith allies in the U.S. who are inspired by their faith to engage in policy advocacy to address structural injustices. According to Colin Christopher, Director of ISNA’s Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances, the award criteria also include the impact of the recipient’s advocacy efforts, the awardee’s humility, and the body of their work throughout their career.

“Amelia gave an impassioned speech that brought many in the crowd to tears,” Christopher said. “[She] reminded us all of the light we can see in the darkest of moments.”
