In his role as director for leadership development, Tim Barner traveled on the east coast to visit FCNL supporters – both individuals and groups – about major gifts for FCNL’s annual operations and the FCNL Campaign. Tim joined the FCNL staff in 2001 to coordinate the public phase of the “A Place Just Right” campaign to construct FCNL’s green building and he became a major gifts officer at the end of that campaign.

Tim majored in Politics and international relations at Princeton University and did graduate work at the School of Education of the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for the World Federalist Association for two decades and directed the national organization for seven years before joining FCNL. He has been a longtime member of the United Nations Association USA and is a volunteer and board officer of the Washington area UNA-NCA.

Tim and his wife Kathy Guthrie, FCNL’s former Field Program Secretary, have six children and nine grandchildren spread from Pittsburgh, PA to Shanghai, China.
