This weekend has given me a feeling of agency, something that in my small town I don’t have access to. And it’s a reminder that there are other people out there who agree with me. We connect over common values even if our backgrounds are different. It’s about learning about issues and getting to use my voice to communicate with other people my age.
I have lived in New Hampshire my entire life. My parents run a peace and social justice center in the White Mountains.
I recently cast my first vote. I have taken for granted that I have political efficacy. But to meet other people here helps to expand my world view.
I’m processing that I can have this level of action and communication with those who represent me. It’s teaching me how to organize others, to show others that they can have the same voice that I have, to share what I love about being American.
