Elizabeth Scott is a junior Political Science/ Pre-Law major with an Organizational Communications minor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is a member of the Honors program, as well as a second-year Eugene Scassa Mock Organization of American States team member for her university.
Her work on the budgetary committee of ESMOAS has taught her how to advocate for her teammate’s resolutions, and she hopes to use these skills to advocate for undocumented immigrants while lobbying for immigration reform. She wants to bring a bi-partisan approach to immigration reform by mobilizing her fellow students, who come from all walks of life, to meet with Charles Boustany, the current representative of Louisiana’s district 3, as well as his staff. These conversations with students who are affected by immigration policies can help spur a more compassionate conversation regarding immigration reform and undocumented citizens.
