I went to a Quaker school outside of Philly (Westtown School) and have adopted a lot of what Quakerism has to offer. Those values resonate with me and my family.
The confidence you gain at Spring Lobby Weekend and comfort level with your representatives increases each year. Being in the space and having the support creates a real comfort in lobbying, and it builds over the years.
The first year it was more about concrete skills—like learning to ride a bike with training wheels. And now I can ride the bike with no training wheels.
As a senior in college, I’m in a place of transition. And the skills learned here are shaping my next steps and next phase of life. As young adults we are just soaking up what’s around us: the knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, engagement.
