As foundation relations director, Alex Wilson advanced FCNL’s mission by working to secure funding from private foundations. Collaborating closely with FCNL’s senior leadership team, Alex led the full-cycle grants process including foundation research, proposal writing, cultivation, compliance, and stewardship.
Prior to FCNL, as a grant writer, Alex secured foundation, corporate, and government support for LIFT, Inc.—an organization focused on helping families break the intergenerational cycle of poverty. They also served as director of development for the Anacostia Playhouse, a performing arts organization in Washington, D.C.’s Ward 8.
Alex earned a B.A. in Fine Art History and Book and Media Studies at the University of Toronto and a J.D. at American University, Washington College of Law. Alex lives in Washington, D.C. with their spouse, toddler, and pug and is a longstanding volunteer at the National Gallery of Art.
