Steps for new members to join an Advocacy Team:

  1. Register for an Intro to Advocacy training. Intro to Advocacy trainings are held monthly. These one-hour Zoom calls inform new advocates about FCNL’s values and history as well as teach introductory advocacy skills. Please register for our next training at www.fcnl.org/introtoadvocacy.

  2. Get Connected. After you attend an Intro to Advocacy training, an FCNL staff member will introduce you by email to your local Advocacy Team, add you to our online community on Mobilize, and sign you up for our email list. This email list will ensure that you are invited to monthly National Calls and receive the monthly newsletter.

  3. Advocate and continue to learn. Your local team will welcome you to their next monthly team meeting and any upcoming lobby visits or community events they have planned. You can continue to strengthen your advocacy skills by participating with the team and attending Zoom calls with the wider Advocacy Teams network. You are also encouraged to take time to look through our Training Workbook and the Advocacy Teams Toolkit.

If you have any questions or need support through this process, please reach out to Advocacy Teams staff at advocacyteams@fcnl.org.
