You, me & 500+ young leaders – Together for immigrant justice!

By Hannah Graf Evans, March 25, 2019

Today and tomorrow, I will be lobbying with more than 500 young adults from 38 states at FCNL’s Spring Lobby Weekend. We will be fanning out across Capitol Hill to urge our elected officials to meaningfully address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border.

Will you join us? Tell Congress to reject increased funding for immigration enforcement and invest in alternatives to detention and expanded accountability.

Jennifer Domenick

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) locks up asylum seekers and families who are seeking safety in our country, along with longtime community members who yearn to stay with their families but cannot yet get legal status. The number of refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented people detained in detention centers has skyrocketed in recent years.

Our current enforcement-only immigration system is costly, abusive, and not working. We need a comprehensive shift away from detention as part of long overdue reforms.

Act now. Magnify the voices of our Spring Lobby Weekend advocates as they lobby here in Washington, D.C. and stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.

Hannah Graf Evans lobbies for compassionate immigration policies. Our immigration system should empower immigrants and the American communities to which they belong, lift up the voices of border communities, and ensure adequate protections for refugees, asylum-seekers and victims of trafficking. Hannah served as co-chair of the Interfaith Immigration Coalition steering committee for three years and still plays an active role in pursuing shared policy priorities of the more than 50 faith-based member organizations.
