This week, the House will start debate on nearly $900 billion for war, nuclear weapons, and a border wall. House leaders are trying to jam this spending through as part of its larger push for a budget that dramatically increases Pentagon spending while imposing deep, irreversible cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.
To make matters worse, weeks after the House Appropriations Committee had adopted an amendment to repeal the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force, in the dark of night Speaker Paul Ryan stripped that amendment from this proposed bill.
