Vote This Week on More Money for War

By Anthony Wier, July 27, 2017

The House passed the military "minibus" 235-192 in a nearly party-line vote.

Original July 24, 2017

This week, the House will start debate on nearly $900 billion for war, nuclear weapons, and a border wall. Make no mistake, this funding bill marches arm in arm toward the same vision as the House and Senate “health care” proposals: together they lift up bombs and billionaires over health and humanity.

We need your help to stop it.

Act now: Tell your representative to vote NO on this dangerous spending bill.

House leaders are trying to jam this spending through as part of its larger push for a budget that dramatically increases Pentagon spending while imposing deep, irreversible cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.

To make matters worse, weeks after the House Appropriations Committee had adopted an amendment to repeal the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force, in the dark of night Speaker Paul Ryan stripped that amendment from this proposed bill.

This bill could come to a vote in just a couple of days. Send an email right now urging your representative to oppose the massive spending bill.
