Tell Congress: No War With Iran!

By Diana Ohlbaum, June 14, 2019

Each day, it seems, the United States moves closer to war with Iran.

The administration has deployed U.S. armed forces into the region and sent “emergency” weapons to Saudi Arabia. Secretary Mike Pompeo is accusing Iran of attacking oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

The Trump administration is playing a dangerous game. While claiming not to want a war with Iran, it has rapidly escalated tensions between our two countries, increasing the risk of accidents and miscalculations.

Congress has the power to stop this. Urge your legislators to block the path to another devastating war in the Middle East.

Under the Constitution, only Congress has the authority to declare war. But Congress needs to guard that authority. Instead, many members are more worried about “tying the president’s hands”.

Your legislators need to hear from you today. Tell them that a war with Iran would be disastrous, and that they must prevent it from happening.
