Tell Congress: No New Money for Family Detention

By Hannah Graf Evans, September 24, 2018

The national crisis of family separation and unchecked immigration enforcement persists. To pave the way for increased family detention, Congress is considering pouring billions more dollars into the budget for immigrant detention.

Government spending should protect families and end unjust border policies. As part of the Interfaith Week of Action to Stop Family Detention people of faith are speaking out in one voice against these policies.

Tell your member of congress that all families deserve to be treated humanely.

Increasing funds for detention, deportation and border militarization, will result in more immigrant families kept in detention. We should instead invest in effective community-based alternatives like the Family Case Management Program. These programs treat families with the dignity they deserve.

Email your Members of Congress today to urge them to choose humane alternatives over incarceration for immigrant families.
