Give Peace a Chance – Support the Global Fragility Act

By Theo Sitther, March 20, 2019

The world is experiencing violence at levels not seen in the last 25 years. For the first time in history, violence has surpassed natural disasters as the main driver behind forced displacement of people. Currently, the U.S. government lacks the capacity to prevent violent conflict or build long-term peace.

Tell Congress:

Support the Global Fragility Act of 2019

Act Now

We have a chance to change that.

In the 115th congress you helped pass the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act, which the President signed into law in January. Building upon that important victory, a strong bipartisan coalition in the House and the Senate in the new congress recently introduced the Global Fragility Act of 2019 (S. 727, H.R. 1580). This bill will strengthen our capacity to address the root causes of violence and provide critical funds to help prevent and reduce conflict before a crisis emerges.

Next week the House will begin marking up this important legislation. Please contact your legislators today and urge them to support the Global Fragility Act of 2019 to reduce and prevent violence.
