Elections 2018: Get Your Candidates on the Record

By Jim Cason, October 24, 2018

With only two weeks until Election Day, we are all hearing a lot from Congressional candidates in the news, on television, at town-halls and even on our doorsteps. That’s good news because it means they are listening closely to your concerns and you have unprecedented access to your future legislators.

What politicians hear on the campaign trail influences the actions they are willing to take once elected.

You know what’s at stake as we rebuild our democracy. This election lays the groundwork for our next two years of advocacy. It’s not just about determining the make-up of Congress. It’s about the mothers and children who rely on food assistance when times get hard. It’s about the immigrant families being detained at the border. And it’s about America’s role in advancing peaceful solutions to conflict in a time when the drums of war beat ever louder.

This is your chance to remind your candidates for Congress that their constituents want policies that prevent war, support people in need, and preserve our planet for future generations.

On Nov. 6, vote your conscience. Until then, use this election season to lobby your next members of Congress.
