DC Deserves Representation: Urge Your Representative to Support Statehood!

By José Santos Woss, June 23, 2020

I’m proud to be one of the more than 700,000 people who live in the District of Columbia. For too long we have been denied a voice and a vote in Congress. That must change.

Support DC Statehood

Write Congress

For the first time in decades, the House is preparing to take up the issue of DC statehood. Before casting a vote, your member of Congress needs to hear from you.

In a time when systemic, racial injustice is front and center in the news, it is especially appropriate that Congress address the denial of congressional representation for DC, a historically Black city whose citizens have be disenfranchised since its founding.

I hope you will raise your voice in solidarity with Washingtonians by calling on your member of Congress to support H.R. 51, the Washington, DC Admissions Act.

Action Alert In the Capital, Without a Vote

The people of Washington, D.C. deserve a voice. The time has come for the 51st state.
