Ask your candidates about peace and justice

By Jim Cason, August 21, 2018

This year’s midterm election couldn’t be more critical. Frustration and anger with the administration and Congress are fueling a sense of urgency in people to get off the sidelines and be active—as candidates, campaign volunteers, and advocates.

As a nonpartisan organization, FCNL does not endorse specific candidates for office. But asking your candidates questions about policy issues of concern to FCNL is a great way to get involved and influence what Congress does now and what happens next year.

Ask your candidates about peace, justice, and a sustainable planet. Find out how.

This election lays the groundwork for our next two years of advocacy. It’s not just about deciding the make-up of Congress. It’s also a great opportunity to get your future representatives in Congress to pay attention to the issues that matter to you.

What candidates hear on the campaign trail influences the actions they are willing to take once elected. This is your chance to remind them that their constituents want policies that prevent war, support people in need, and preserve our planet for future generations.

On Nov. 6, vote your conscience. Until then, use this election season to lobby your next members of Congress. Click here to get started!
