Advocate for Welcome, Not Walls

By Hannah Graf Evans, December 2, 2018

We live in troubling times. First, the administration separated children from their parents as they sought safety by crossing our border with Mexico. Hundreds remain separated today. Then, they responded to a humanitarian crisis by deploying troops in border communities and actively teargassing asylum seekers. Today, they are building walls through communities and detention camps on military bases to house refugee families.

Tell Congress to reject increased funding for unchecked immigration enforcement.

Act Now

Congress has a critical choice to make before the end of the year. Is this the nation we want to be?

Congress must decide by Dec. 21, 2018 how to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the rest of fiscal year 2019. Right now is a critical time for people of faith and conscience to make our voices heard and say all people deserve to be treated humanely. Every additional dollar for immigration detention and enforcement allows the Trump administration to carry out policies that erode the rights and safety of immigrants, refugees, and migrants.

Today, it is critical for people of faith and conscience to make our voices heard and say all people deserve to be treated humanely.
