Parissa Joukar

Parissa is the Program Assistant for Middle East Policy. She helps maintain the FCNL World Twitter account, offers communications support to allies across the country, and tracks legislative activity on Capitol Hill.

She works alongside FCNL’s lead Middle East lobbyist, Hassan El-Tayyab, to prevent war with Iran and suspend U.S. participation in the Saudi-led coalition’s military operations in Yemen.

Parissa graduated with a B.A. in media studies with a concentration in media policy and ethics, and a minor in Middle Eastern and South Asian studies from the University of Virginia. In 2019, she received a grant from the National First-Generation Low-Income Partnership (FLIP) to publish the first edition of her magazine titled "Purge", a collection of prose and poetry written by underprivileged and/or nontraditional students at the University of Virginia.

She was born and raised in Winchester, Virginia, and speaks fluent Farsi.
