Nedy Velazquez is FCNL’s Advocacy Corps Coordinator. In that role she supports FCNL’s cohort of young adult organizers to mobilize their local community around federal legislation.
In her previous role at Justice Overcoming Boundaries, Nedy organized culturally diverse communities in San Diego on housing, immigration, health, and transportation equity. She also served as an FCNL Advocacy Corps organizer for 2020-2021, advocating for a pathway to citizenship. She is a graduate of the University of California San Diego (UCSD) with a B.A. in political science. Living in a border region and being a first-generation immigrant inspired her passion for advocating for immigrants’ rights and social justice.
Nedy has trained undergraduate students about lobbying and advocacy through UCSD’s Legislative Advocacy Program. She is excited to continue building community and mobilizing youth.
