According to the designer of our office furniture, Herman Miller Products, there are three primary goals one must consider when designing eco-friendly office furniture:
- the chemicals involved in manufacture and use ought to be the safest available
- the furniture should be easy to disassemble at the end of its life for more efficient recycling
the furniture should be made from easily recyclable materials
The idea is to go beyond regulatory compliance, toward a comprehensive, holistic approach that maximizes environmental considerations. Continuing this idea, Herman Mills attempts to minimize the waste produced in the manufacture and shipping of the furniture. The furniture was installed by American Office.
