Maureen Brookes
Communications Program Assistant
Maureen joined FCNL in September 2006 after graduating from Wesleyan University, where she majored in English and Women’s Studies. At Wesleyan, she completed a thesis on transnational racial and ethnic identities in two works of Caribbean American fiction and worked in the student government office. In 2005, she participated in a summer study abroad program in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Maureen is originally from New Jersey and is a member of Haddonfield Monthly Meeting. Prior to joining the FCNL staff, she worked in the grants department of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and at the Friends Fiduciary Corporation, where she reviewed trust documents. She enjoys reading about subjects ranging from the timely to the obscure, exploring DC, and, when possible, traveling.
