Katrina Schwartz
Program Assistant, Peaceful Prevention of Deadly Conflict
Katrina graduated from Haverford College in 2008 with a BA in English and a minor in Spanish. While at Haverford she won a grant to work with street children in Nicaragua during the summer of 2006. That experience prompted her to help coordinate a delegation to Nicaragua comprised of Haverford student interns in the summer of 2008. Katrina believes that engaging individuals with an issue in a personal way is the best hope for long lasting commitment and change.
After graduating from Haverford, Katrina became a Philly Fellow, working with the Energy Coordinating Agency of Philadelphia on policy initiatives, communications, and training related to home weatherization and energy conservation. This work on climate change at the state and local level piqued her interest in policy work and eventually brought her to FCNL.
Katrina will be working with Bridget Moix on the Peaceful Prevention of Deadly Conflict and looks forward to affecting change at the federal level while learning about the inner workings of Washington, D.C.
