Arthur Meyer Boyd
Associate Executive Secretary for Finance, Development and Program Interpretation
Arthur joined the FCNL staff in August, 1995, having previously been for many years the Baltimore Yearly Meeting representative to the FCNL General Committee, and clerk of the Personnel Committee, and a donor. He views his service with FCNL as a practical expression in daily life of his Quaker faith.
He has been director of a statewide lobbying group in Maryland, a senior executive in a state welfare agency, an assistant county administrator/human services coordinator in a rural Michigan county, and community relations director for a psychiatric hospital. Prior Friends service has included being clerk of his Monthly Meeting, a regional director for American Friends Service Committee, and AFSC committee clerk and volunteer before that.
As part of the leadership team planning for FCNL's new Green Building, Arthur examined the cost/benefits of Green architecture and led the capital campaign for the building reconstruction. He speaks frequently before community groups on techniques of grassroots lobbying and on effective change strategies for peace. Arthur brings inspiration from practical successes experienced at FCNL.
He is married to Margaret Boyd Meyer (Meg), and with his daughter they live in Baltimore, Maryland.
