Make Peace an Election Issue in 2008

War is Not the Answer sign in Germantown

One of the few issues the Democratic and Republicans parties agree on is the need to increase the size of the military--they only disagree by how much. Help make peace, not war and its preparations, a focus in the 2008 elections. By changing the debate in the elections, you'll help change the debate in Congress next year.

1.Order a War Is Not the Answer sign.

You'll not only be making a personal statement against war, you'll be encouraging a conversation. See some ideas on having that conversation.

2.Contact candidates running for Congress.

Writing letters

Write to the candidates on the issues you care about.

3.Write a letter to the editor.

By responding to coverage of the election, you'll influence your candidates and reach other people in your community at the same time.

4. Ask congressional candidates questions.
